Sugar Baby Watermelon
Sunlight: 8-10 hours of full sun. The more sun = the more melons.
This is a warm-season crop. DO NOT PLANT UNTIL THE THREAT OF LAST FROST HAS PASSED. 70-90 degrees is the sweet spot for growing temperatures.
Soil: Well-draining & rich soil. pH balance of 6.0-6.8. Highly recommend composting prior to planting.
Spacing: 3-5' between plants. These vines can spread 8-10' long.
Watering: Keep soil moist but not soggy. Reduce watering once the fruit starts to mature to increase the sweetness.
Pro Tip: Add pollinating plants for maximum melon production. Hummingbirds and bees need to constantly be in the melon area.
