Beefsteak Tomato Plants
If you want big, juicy beefsteaks, you’ve got to treat them like the heavy hitters they are. They demand a little more attention—but they pay you back with serious production.
6+ hours of sunlight. Due to Colorado's intense ultraviolet rays, a shade cloth is recommended.
Well-drained soil with compost and perlite at the root base when planting. Addendum jar with perlite, vermiculite, and pre-compost is an extra $5.00.
Keep soil moist but not soggy. Water 2-3 times per week. Pro Tip: Use a cedar-based mulch around the base of the plant to help retain moisture.
Use a low-nitrogen, high-phosphorus fertilizer once a week once flowering begins.
